Admission Policy & Procedure
Noor-e-Sehar Special Education School has the vision of leaving no one behind. Accordingly, children with various disabilities are admitted in the education system. The school has state of the art teaching facilities to cater educational needs of children with cross-disabilities. Getting the children with disabilities on board with the school is a challenge for the assessment and screening teams.
Screening in the Field
For bringing children with disabilities into school, the assessment and screening teams visit the communities and undertake following steps:
- Visit door-to-door for identification of the children with disabilities.
- If a child with disability is found in a house then a medical doctor/physiotherapist assesses the type of disability, physical and mental condition and level/severity of the disability.
- Assessment of the educational level, status of the rehabilitation, socialization of the child.
- Assessment of the economic condition of the family.
- Counseling of the family members for admitting the child in the school. In this regard, the information about the facilities available at the school for that specific child with disability is provided to the family.
- Filling of necessary forms with pictures of the child and family.
Admission in the School
The children with disabilities are brought in the school for getting admission in appropriate class keeping in view already held screening data. In this regard, following procedure is adopted:
- Launching of the admission campaign to motivate the community as well as parents to send their children with disabilities in the school.
- The School Administration put banners and posters in the community.
- A complete admission schedule is drawn and notified.
- An admission team are formed to handle the process of admission.
- An application form is supplied to the parents to fill-in with the basic information and to be submitted in the school within the due dates.
- A file is prepared of each student with the relevant documents e.g. CNIC of the parent/guardian, proof of the residence, B-form of the student and an Affidavit by the parent/guardian mentioning abiding by the school rules and regulations.
