Cook Fest at Noor-e-Sehar Special Education School (NSSES)

Noor-e-Sehar Special Education School organized a Cook Fest, where the special students and staff showcased their culinary talents in an impressive event. This event aimed to provide a fun and educational opportunity for the students to develop their self-help skills, learn about table manners, and expand their knowledge of different cuisines and countries. It created a supportive and inclusive environment for the students to learn important life skills and explore the diverse food and cultures from around the world.

The Cook Fest had the following objectives:

  1. Empowerment: Giving special students a platform to showcase their culinary talents, boosting their confidence and self-esteem.
  2. Skill Development: Enhancing students’ culinary skills by involving them in planning, preparing, and presenting a variety of dishes.
  3. Awareness: Raising awareness about the abilities and potential of special students. Through discovering diverse cuisines, the students developed a sense of cultural appreciation and respect, broadening their understanding of the world.
  4. Inclusion: Fostering inclusivity, understanding, and acceptance among students, teachers, parents, and guests.

The event took place in the school’s multipurpose hall, Jinnah Hall, which was transformed into a vibrant culinary hub. The special students actively participated in preparing a wide range of delicious dishes under the guidance of their teachers. They showcased their skills in various cuisines, including traditional street food, Turkish, Chinese, and Subway sandwiches. The students were involved in planning the event, creating menus, and presenting and serving their dishes with creativity.

Guests from the Medical Complex were invited to attend the event, providing invaluable encouragement to the special students. The attendees had the opportunity to enjoy the diverse range of dishes prepared by the students and provide immediate feedback, fostering a sense of accomplishment and boosting their confidence.

The Cook Fest was a memorable and enriching event, celebrating the culinary talents of these exceptional individuals. It served as a testament to the potential within every student and highlighted the importance of recognizing and nurturing talents regardless of physical abilities.

Distinguished guests from MPCL Field Daharki, including Mr. Hassan Nawaz, RMS MPCL, Col. Farooq Azam DM CSR MPCL, Col. Shahid, Maj. Tasveer, and Mr. Hairuddin Baloch, attended the event. Mr. Hassan Nawaz appreciated the students and staff of NSSES with encouraging words, commending their dedication and creativity in organizing such an exceptional event. The staff of Mari Model High School and Mari were also present at the event.
